AI Engineer — RAG & Knowledge Systems

Notion is hiring an AI Engineer to build intelligent knowledge management features powered by RAG. You will work on Notion AI's search, Q&A, and document understanding capabilities, helping users get answers from their entire workspace.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement RAG pipelines for Notion's knowledge base
• Improve semantic search and document retrieval quality
• Build LLM-powered Q&A features that cite specific pages and blocks
• Develop evaluation frameworks to measure retrieval and answer quality
• Collaborate with the Notion AI product and research teams

Requirements

• Strong Python and TypeScript skills
• Experience with vector databases and embedding models
• Understanding of chunking strategies and retrieval quality metrics
• Experience shipping production AI features to large user bases
