Machine Learning Engineer — Foundation Models

Google DeepMind is seeking an ML Engineer to work on foundation model research and productionisation. You will bridge cutting-edge research and scalable deployment, working on Gemini and next-generation multimodal models.

Responsibilities

• Implement and optimise training pipelines for large-scale transformer models
• Develop evaluation suites for model capability and safety benchmarks
• Work with researchers to productionise novel model architectures
• Optimise inference performance using quantisation and speculative decoding

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in ML, Computer Science, or related field
• Strong Python, JAX/PyTorch skills
• Experience with distributed training at scale
• Publications at NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR a plus
